Yellowstone develops workable bison plan

Yellowstone National Park officials have developed a reasonable plan to remove up to 360 bison migrating from the park this winter.

We hope the proposal isn’t derailed by either the state of Montana — which would like to see more bison available for hunting — or environmental groups that don’t want any killed.

How to manage the 3,700 bison in Yellowstone — some of the most genetically pure of the species in North America — has been a challenge for park officials for many years.
