Yellowstone wildfire plans aim for more flexibility

With recent approval from the Intermountain Region of the National Park Service, the rewrite will allow firefighters to adopt an approach that emphasizes flexibility.
The OK from Park Service higher-ups is the go-ahead “to write the ‘here’s how we do this’ plan,” said Al Nash, Yellowstone public affairs spokesman.
The park’s response to wildfires in recent years has become more elastic, and that will become the official system, Nash said.
