At the request of the Owyhee County Commission, the Bureau of Land Management’s Boise and Twin Falls districts are extending the public comment period for the Draft Wilderness and Wild and Scenic River Management Plan through May 31.

The Draft WMP addresses six wilderness areas and 16 wild and scenic river segments in Owyhee County. The wilderness areas comprise about 518,000 acres, and the WSR segments total about 325 miles. The Draft WMP is designed to guide the management of the wilderness areas and river segments for the next 10 years.
