Ecosystem Management Initiative: Lessons Learned

Watershed Partnerships: A Strategic Guide for Local Conservation Efforts in the West
The Western Governors' Association identified the importance of watersheds as an arena for conflict resolution in water and related land management while it was considering ways to respond to the changing values and multiple demands regarding western water.  In this report they have provided guidance for those interested in starting watershed partnerships or already involved in partnerships and have included lessons learned from existing partnership efforts.

Public Participation: Lessons Learned, Barriers, & Innovative Approaches
The Office of Environmental Policy Innovation has taken a fresh look at EPA efforts to involve the public by reviewing formal evaluations and informal summaries from across the agency that identify, describe, and/or evaluate agency stakeholder involvement and public participation activities.  Based upon this review, they have identified key cross-cutting lessons learned, pinpointed unique barriers and ways to overcome them, and highlighted innovative approaches to stakeholder involvement and public participation.
